Pre-New Year's Day Classic

There is a pleasing symmetry to how the Belizean cycling year closes. In the last days of December the field rides fifty miles down the Philip Goldson Highway from Orange Walk Town into Belize City, and then, days later on the first morning of January, it lines up on the same highway to do it again for the race that opens the season.
