Byron Pope

Byron “Popie” Pope won the Junior Cross Country in 2006 and defended it in 2007, setting a junior record that stood for eight years, and took the junior Belmopan Classic in that first championship year too. He has been a fixture at the sharp end of Belizean racing ever since, riding for Belize at the Central American and Caribbean Games and finishing third overall in the 2022 Classic as the first Belizean home.
