Duncan Vernon

Duncan “The Veteran” Vernon was the oldest man on the track and one of the craftiest wheels in the bunch. He won the Cross Country in 1957 and 1961, and shared the 1960 title in the only dead heat the race has ever produced. Four runner-up finishes sit alongside them, across a career that began in 1951 and ran deep into the 1960s.
