Elston Kerr

Elston Kerr was twenty-six years old when he rode into history. He won the very first Cross Country in 1928, covering 188 miles of cattle trail in 21 hours and 29 minutes, then won again in 1929 and took second in 1930. He died after a short illness not long after, and champions have carried wreaths to his tomb ever since. Belize calls him the father of its cycling.
