Ernest Meighan

Ernest “JawMeighan” Meighan rode for Belize at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona and won the Cross Country twice, in 1997 and 2001, taking the garland back at a time when foreign riders had been carrying it home. Across a decade he collected at least twenty wins on the Belizean calendar, including four Valentine Classics and two national titles. Captain and heartbeat of Team Santino's, he is remembered as one of the finest riders his country has produced.
