Lindsford “Lindy” Gillett won the Cross Country in 1983 at just eighteen years old, among the youngest champions the race has ever produced. The following year he carried Belize's flag into the opening ceremony of the Los Angeles Olympics and rode the road race there. A remarkable two years for a teenager.
