Mateo Cruz

Mateo Cruz rode eighteen Cross Country Classics, a tally almost nobody in the race's history has matched. He won two Labor Day Classics, the Valentine Classic and the Belmopan Classic across the mid-2000s, took a national Masters title in 2008, and in 1999 he set a record for the ride out to Cayo. A prize is awarded in his memory each year to the first Belizean over fifty to finish the Classic.
