Career overview
Who they are
Norris Wade rode the very first Cross Country in 1928 at twenty-five, on a Hercules, turning a 104 inch gear when most of the field pushed around ninety. He finished second that year, the only man who stayed close to the leader out and back, and two years later he took the title outright in 1930. He lived long enough to tell the story himself.
